DISCUSSION
This report describes a case of congenital cleft palate (palatoschisis) of the soft palate with concurrent rhinosinusitis and otitis. Overall, few congenital abnormalities have been reported in chinchillas. The most common congenital disorder encountered is related to dentition.1, 2 A single report of atresia ani in a chinchilla with polycystic kidneys and an absent reproductive tract and large intestines has been published.3 Other reported congenital abnormalities include schistosomus reflexus4
